Digital Radiography Fluoroscopic Radiation Safety Training
Advanced Health Education Center provides this new and popular continuing education course covering digital radiography skills and fluoroscopic radiation safety skills, standards and current practices. This course is designed to meet the new California Department of Public Health requirements for four hours of digital radiography and four hours of fluoroscopic radiation safety for the California Radiologic Technologist. The topics covered in the digital radiography section include physics of digital imaging, DR & CR image capture, extraction and processing, image evaluation, troubleshooting acquisition errors and artifacts. The topics covered in the fluoroscopic radiation safety section include visual physiology, image intensifiers, flat panel detectors, image quality, gains, automatic brightness stabilizers, recording systems, fluoroscopy options, fluoroscopy exam, pediatrics, biologic effects and quality control regulations. Detailed instruction is given in this instructor directed presentation on Digital/Fluoroscopy. The goal of each class is to deliver current relevant information that will improve the learner’s skills and transfer easily to benefit the workplace. This excellent educational activity is beneficial to all radiologic technologists in all states, but is specifically required continuing education in California.
This course is available live in the classroom for eight hours total, or as two separate four hour self study courses, available online 24 hours a day/seven days a week. The digital on demand course is called "Digital Radiography for the RT". The fluoroscopic on demand course is called "Fluoroscopic Radiation Safety for the RT".
