For emergency physicians, physician assistants, nurses and other practitioners, emergency ultrasound training is essential. Fortunately, emergency ultrasound training can be obtained from highly qualified professionals at Advanced Health Education Center in Houston, Texas.
AHEC provides emergency ultrasound training courses that instruct medical professionals in imaging for emergency, critical care and trauma patients. This includes assessment with sonography for trauma, also known as FAST ultrasound.
Emergency Medicine Ultrasound and FAST Ultrasound
After completing our emergency medicine ultrasound course, participants will be able to successfully perform a trauma FAST exam, including the ability to evaluate trauma patients for abnormalities around the heart and abdominal organs in those first critical moments after a trauma (also known as the "Golden Hour"). The emergency ultrasound training course also addresses the important distinctions involved with scanning patients with special circumstances, such as first trimester pregnancy patients and catheter patients.
Our Course Structure
Our emergency ultrasound course commences with a lecture component, continues with case study presentations and concludes with hands on scanning time in the lab. Participants will have ample time to practice their protocol, including diagnosis. Because this practice is done on live models, this is as close to a true laboratory setting as you can get. It's no wonder that AHEC is an emergency ultrasound training destination for clinicians from all over the world.
Types of Emergency Medicine Training Courses:
Emergency Medicine / Point of Care Ultrasound (16 credits)
Advanced Emergency Medicine/ Point of Care Ultrasound (8 credits)
Ultrasound Guided Vascular Access (6 credits)
