Texas Medical Board Approved Human Trafficking Prevention Training
Our course is approved by the Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC), approval can be verified HERE.
We are thrilled to offer this course to all medical professionals who, in addition to satisfying the requirements from the Texas Medical Board, will receive either 1.5 Category A CE or 1.5 Category 1 credit for the completion of this course.
The Human Trafficking Prevention for Healthcare Personnel course is taught by Damon Jackson, who has over 20 years of experience in classroom and hands-on instruction, over 15 years of experience in law enforcement, and has been a long-time faculty member at Advanced Health Education Center. Everyone who has attended a course presented by Damon knows about the passion and enthusiasm he brings to his courses, and we are confident he has created a comprehensive course that will be both informative and captivating for all healthcare professionals.
How do I know if I need to take the Human Trafficking Prevention course?
Yes, if you renew your license through the Texas Medical Board. House Bill 2059 (86th Legislature) requires physicians, physicians assistants, and any other licensee of the TMB's advisory boards or communities that provide direct patient care, to complete a human trafficking prevention course approved by HHSC. When will I need to complete this course for my license renewal?
This requirement applies to the renewal of a license on or after September 1, 2020.
Can AHEC's course be counted for my ARRT educational credits?
Yes, AHEC's course is the only course approved for Category A credit and will count for 1.5 hours of CE.
