Growing Radiologic Opportunities for Women

Attention all current and aspiring radiologic technologists! Are you passionate about improving healthcare in your community? Do you want to advance your career in mammography and make a difference? Look no further than the GROW! Mammography Scholarship Program! We're thrilled to offer this amazing opportunity for two lucky individuals to receive comprehensive initial training, valuable clinical experience, and the opportunity to become MQSA qualified to begin their mammography career.

The GROW! Mammography Scholarship is designed to support radiologic technologists who are dedicated to advancing in the field of radiology sciences. We believe that by investing in the education and professional development of these individuals, we can help improve the quality of care in our communities. This scholarship is designed to cross train radiologic technologists into mammographers. By the completion of the initial training program, these techs will be MQSA qualified and ready to begin their mammography career.

The next scholarship cohort will be October 2024.

The application will reopen July 1st and will close August 18th, 2024.

To apply for the scholarship, participants must submit an original essay that explains how the scholarship will make a difference for them and their community, as well as a letter of professional reference. Two applicants will be chosen based on specific criteria: Applicant #1 must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical imaging profession, and Applicant #2 must be a new graduate from an accredited program. The RT and the student must meet the FDA MQSA guidelines and licensure requirements in their state of practice. Participants will go through AHEC's 40-hour initial training program. AHEC can provide a clinical site for the initial 25 supervised exams, but if the candidate chooses to coordinate the clinical exams, a letter of participation is required from their current employer.

As a participant in the GROW! Mammography Scholarship Program, each recipient will receive complimentary round-trip airfare, a stay at a hotel selected by AHEC, and a daily stipend. Travel arrangements must be made no later than 30 days prior to the event. Eligibility is also dependent upon attendance of all required events and completion of the post-meeting survey.

By submitting an application, the participant agrees to comply with the official rules and consents to AHEC's use of their name, portrait (still and video), picture, voice, likeness and biographical information for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without additional consent, approval, consideration, compensation, permission or notification.
